During September 2019 the BC government announced $1.3 Billion dollar Burnaby Hospital redevelopment. Included will be an increase from 265 to 397 beds in the 6 story patient tower. When you do the math, that is $10 million per bed.There is also a new state of the art cancer centre and modernized outpatient services.

The BHF has a staff of 8 and 2018 was the the year for fund raising. The BHF does not provide operational money, only capital and equipment. 

2018/2019 Year: 36% of money was from major gifts, 25% from annual giving, 15% from events, 14% from investments, and 3% other.

Money was spent on Lobby upgrade 36%, Isolatioin room 24%, Surical video tower 13%, Bed and Ventilatio (ICU) 11%, Maternity and neonatal upgrades 6%, other 10%
