ADG Gabriel introduced DG Jan Gisborne of District 5040. Jan (3rd from left) started by presenting Gabriel with a club citation. Jan in her address to the club explained that the purpose of the District is to help clubs and asked that members who might have ideas that could help Rotary to please send them to her. 

 

District 5040 is planning smaller local conferences that will be more convenient and less costly than the traditional district conference. The morning portion of the conference will be learning and the afternoon what do clubs do and what do clubs want to do, Jan encourages clubs to partner, both with other Rotary clubs and also with other community groups. She also suggested that social events with a purpose would be a good way to engage new members more and socials with other clubs.

PETS training (March 7 & 8 at the Wosk Centre, SFU) will also be local, no more travel and staying away for nights for lower mainland Rotarians. A big thank you to Jan for her visit to our club! It was nice to meet you!
