Incorporating truth and Reconcilliation in the Talitha Koum Society Program
Over the past two years, Talitha Koum Society has experienced a significant increase in clients of Indigenous descent. In response, the Society is committed to fostering a recovery environment that is inclusive, culturally safe, and specifically responsive to the unique needs of Indigenous women. Recognizing the profound impact of colonization, intergenerational trauma, and systemic injustices on Indigenous communities, the integration of Indigenous reconciliation into our program is essential to promote holistic healing and empowerment.
Through this integration, Talitha Koum Society strives to create a healing space where Indigenous women feel recognized, respected, and empowered. This approach not only supports individual recovery but also contributes to broader community healing and reconciliation.
