The club supports a candidate to the Adventures in Technology and Adventures in Forestry & Environment programs. Our club candidates will share their experience and what they gained from attending the Adventure programs. Adventures in Technology - Adventures in Technology is a comprehensive, carefully planned four and one-half day event that allows Western Canadian Grade 11 and 12 students to explore advanced technology, research, development and applications. The experience enhances each participant's awareness and understanding of technology, the many ways it affects our lives, and the opportunities it holds for tomorrow. Adventures in Forestry & Environment - Launched in 1990 by the Rotary Club of Prince George Yellowhead, the Adventure in Forestry program annually introduces 20 to 30 high school students to the wide variety of careers the forest and environmental industries have to offer. From seed to sawdust, the Adventure in Forestry and Environmental Studies program is a unique, fun packed and fast paced way to learn about these industries. Not only are participants able to work side by side with and ask questions of: mill staff , tree planters, nursery staff and forest fire personnel, students participate in a variety of tours and learn about related programs the University of Northern British Columbia and the College of New Caledonia offer. This program incorporates the latest technology providing new and innovative techniques with first hand, on site experiences. Non-Rotarians are welcome to attend.
